Originals

Real stories. New possibilities.

We use our own technology to discover, research and create original true stories.

Every project helps us test and improve our AI tools — from intelligent research and evidence analysis to new ways of creating and experiencing stories.

Human judgement remains central. Our research is traceable, our methods transparent and our work editorially reviewed.

01
Discover
Finding stories in information. Using AI to connect sources, uncover patterns and explore ideas that might otherwise be missed.
02

Turning knowledge into stories. Combining human creativity with AI-powered research, writing and new forms of expression.
03
Explore
Beyond traditional formats. Experimenting with interactive narratives, immersive experiences and new ways for audiences to explore and understand true stories.

Built with our own technology.

Originals is where we put Intelligence, StoryOS and Studio to work on real projects.

Our first project, The Protea Files, begins in November 2026: a series of short, standalone stories drawn from a private archive and public records, each told in a different format.

Story 01: The Architect, Hendrik Verwoerd and the laws that built apartheid, as an interactive timeline.

Real stories. Human judgement. New technology.
